what happen?
Telegram’s click-to-earn games, such as Hamster Kombat and Catizen, have attracted hundreds of millions of players to the TON blockchain so far.
These two super games are expected to airdrop tokens in the near future: Hamster Kombat will airdrop HMSTR tokens on September 26, and Catizen will issue CATI tokens on September 20, which is bound to attract a large number of users to participate.
Last month, the meme coin DOGS airdrop caused the TON network to be overwhelmed, and TON developers said that the subsequent large-scale airdrops of Hamster Kombat and Catizen may also bring burden to the TON network.

How big is the TON network?
The TON network has been under great pressure recently. According to reports from the TON development team, the number of daily active users on the chain has reached 1.1 million many times in the past two weeks, and the single-day transaction volume has even reached 14.4 million times. Among them, the meme currency DOGS airdrop is the main reason that attracts users to enter the TON ecosystem. Of the 42.2 million eligible users, 17 million actually claimed tokens.
Looking at Catizen, one of the most popular games in recent times, there are currently about 35 million players participating, and at least 15 million players are eligible to receive the upcoming CATI tokens.
The impact of Hamster Kombat is even more staggering. It is estimated that as of the end of July, the game has more than 300 million players, with 86 million active users in the past month, and all players are eligible to participate in the HMSTR token airdrop. In other words, more people are expected to flood into the TON network than the meme coin DOGS airdrop.
Developers are actively preparing for the war
Due to this surge in user activity, TON, the Layer 1 blockchain, has frequently experienced service interruptions.
Last month, TON's block processing stalled twice within a week, and in the most severe cases, services were even interrupted for several hours. In the event of a large-scale game airdrop this time, network load capacity will be a major challenge.
"We are committed to continuously improving and solving challenges to drive the network towards mass adoption," TON developers wrote in a Telegram post.
According to foreign media "Crypto.ro", the TON developer team even launched a new "TON Mintless Jetton" technology in an attempt to reduce the pressure on the network from airdrop activities and keep each transaction fee below $1.
