ChainCatcher news, reported by The Block, former litigation advisor to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and partner at BakerHostetler law firm Teresa Goody Guillén stated that cases brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission against cryptocurrency companies are expected to decrease in the new year. In the future, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission will only be able to file lawsuits in cases involving securities.

Therefore, if the lawsuits do not involve securities, the agency will refer these wrongdoers to the Department of Justice and other regulatory bodies, such as the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
