The treacherous cryptocurrency market showed a warm side today.
Little girl with a rare brain tumor
An internet user named Siqi Chen shared the story of his young daughter Mira's battle with a rare brain tumor on a social media platform yesterday.
If you could press a button that cures your child’s brain tumor in exchange for ending your life immediately, every parent would hesitate for zero seconds before fighting to be the first to press it. The cruelest thing is that no such button exists. But there is always a move. pic.twitter.com/mlAbmeOpvx

Siqi Chen pointed out that his young daughter was diagnosed with a rare adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma on September 23 of this year. Although this type of tumor is classified as benign in medicine, it is located in a dangerous area of the brain and often comes with a series of serious health issues, posing significant challenges to the patient's life.
However, due to the limited number of cases, the medical community has long been under-resourced in researching this type of tumor, resulting in very few available treatment options. Additionally, the location of the Mira tumor is close to the optic nerve and hypothalamus, making standard treatments like surgery and radiation therapy impossible to perform.
Thus, Siqi Chen found Dr. Todd Hankinson at the University of Colorado, USA. This is the only laboratory in North America focused on pediatric craniopharyngiomas. Dr. Hankinson and his team have launched a series of clinical trials exploring how new drugs can slow tumor growth and improve the quality of life for patients.
Despite some progress in research, the laboratory still faces challenges of inadequate funding. Siqi Chen calls on all sectors of society to lend a helping hand to support the research at Hankinson Lab, as every dollar will be directly used to develop new treatment options to benefit more children like Mira.
"We hope Mira's story is not just a sad case but a symbol of scientific hope."
In addition to fundraising on traditional crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe, Siqi Chen also published his wallet addresses for Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Solana to accept donations from all sectors.
The magical internet currency
However, some online users created the meme coin MIRA based on this story and sent half of the total circulation directly to Siqi Chen's wallet address. After that, the MIRA token skyrocketed. Although Siqi Chen sold some of his holdings for donations to the laboratory in the past two hours, he consulted the community each time before selling to see if they agreed, and the community rarely expressed consent.
Okay look, I feel it would be irresponsible not to sell another 10% for the benefit of Hankinson Lab. I am going to do a poll for the next 10 minutes. If SELL wins, I will liquidate another 10%. I refuse to rug.

Despite multiple sell-offs, as of the writing of this article, the MIRA tokens in Siqi Chen's wallet are still worth over 15 million USD, which makes Siqi Chen marvel at the magic of internet currency.
As of the writing of this article, the market value of the MIRA token has reached 43 million USD.
