The Dollar's Soaring
The dollar closed another day higher this Wednesday (12/18), at R$$ 6.26, which represents a new record.
This is the second day in a row that the American currency has surpassed R$$ 6.20.
On Tuesday (12/17), after reaching this level, the currency fell and closed at R$$ 6.09, which still represented an unprecedented closing price.
The surge at the end of the year, which took the dollar above R$$ 6 and broke records in a row, made the Brazilian real consolidate itself as the currency that has depreciated the most so far in 2024 among the most traded in the world.
This in a year marked by the major devaluation of the world's largest currencies against the dollar.
