Have you played today? The current inscription ecosystem can be said to be flourishing and a hundred schools of thought contend: almost every day there are endless new projects and new protocols. Now almost every community is asking, which one to play today and which one to play tomorrow. Looking back, apart from the wealth-creating effect of ordi and sats, how many people really make money? Can retail investors really get good returns by rushing in?
For some novices, the original principal is not much, and they play a little here and there, not to mention no income, all the contributions are paid for the handling fee. So how can some novices participate in the inscription track best? Today I saw that Daoshuo is very simple and easy to understand, and it is more suitable for the current situation of some novices. Share it with everyone.
Up to now, almost all of our top public chains, including Ethereum’s second-layer extensions, have been inscribed. Even Ethereum’s test network has been inscribed. I find it difficult to understand the purpose of inscriptions on the test network.
There are so many projects and protocols, from the initial BRC-20 and STAMP to the current BRC-100, BRC-420, BRC-721, Recursive, Cursed, ORC, ARC, Nostr, ARC, Rune, RGB, etc., and even BTNS, a protocol that was neglected 7 months ago, has been dug out and become a hot topic.
This is both a bad thing and a good thing.
I say this is a bad thing because when we are faced with so many projects and so many agreements, on the one hand, it is easy to be impetuous and confused; on the other hand, it is easy for us to be greedy and want to cover everything.
This is a good thing because it is precisely because of these projects and protocols that many sub-segments have emerged in this ecosystem. As long as we find a sub-segment we like and study it in depth, we can become an expert in that track and capture our own opportunities in that track.
How to balance the good and bad influences?
I suggest that we judge and decide based on our own situation:
If we feel that we have difficulty in grasping the situation, and the more we look at it, the more we feel we don’t know where to start, then it is better for us to just watch from the sidelines and not get involved at all.
If we observe and find that we have some special inspiration and unique ideas in certain areas, we might as well give it a try with some funds that we can afford to risk.
If we plan to try it out with some funds that we can afford to risk, then we need to systematically sort out our investment ideas before entering the market, make some trade-offs, and find an investment method and approach that suits us.
My idea is:
For projects, only choose to participate in the chains that you are interested in and have the highest consensus; for protocols, only choose to participate in the ones that you understand and think have greater innovation.
Watch the rest if you can, ignore it if you can’t.
For on-chain inscriptions, I am currently focusing on inscriptions in Bitcoin and Ethereum (including Ethereum’s second-layer extensions) and projects related to inscriptions.
Although Solana and AVAX have also attracted a lot of attention in this round of craze, I am not familiar with them and don’t pay much attention to them, so I participate less in projects on these two chains, and I have no intention of participating in other chains, no matter how popular they are or how big their effects are.
As for protocols, I am currently focusing on BRC-20 and BRC-420 in Bitcoin and Ethscriptions in Ethereum. I occasionally come across other protocols and pay a little attention to them if I think they are good, but I will not spend too much energy to understand and study each protocol in depth.
In addition, I will follow the proven logic and ideas in the past development of the Ethereum ecosystem to discover start-up projects and explore new opportunities.
What is the proven logic and ideas?
That is, once assets appear, the next step must be to generate various applications and services around the assets.
The most typical example is in the Inscription ecosystem. Now there are BRC-20 assets with a high consensus (such as ORDI and SATS). In the future, there will inevitably be a series of applications such as decentralized exchanges, mortgages, loans, and even stablecoins and derivatives trading centered on these BRC-20 token services.
Another example is the provision of platforms and related tools to help start-up projects issue assets or raise funds.
These applications have already begun to take shape.
In addition, I will also pay attention to some applications that should exist in theory but do not seem to be seen yet (or the signs are still very weak). For example, I think there will be a series of applications around inscription NFTs, such as transactions, mortgages, loans, etc.
In addition, in the Bitcoin inscription ecosystem, we will find some very special projects, especially those that are derived specifically to solve the shortcomings of Bitcoin itself.
I wonder if anyone has personally tried to buy BRC-20 on Unisat?
That was a terrible experience: many coins were sold for hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars per order. As long as the price of a coin was slightly higher, it would be difficult for retail investors to participate in placing orders in this way.
This results in poor liquidity of the token and is very user-unfriendly.
In order to solve this problem, some projects have used Bitcoin’s second-layer extensions, while others have simply used Ethereum’s existing facilities to cross-chain BRC-20 to Ethereum and conduct transactions on Ethereum.
That experience was much better.
Applications like this are quite special, and projects that are specifically designed to solve the shortcomings of Bitcoin are also worth paying attention to. However, the situation here is a bit complicated, because the potential of some applications is very limited in my opinion. Will newer technologies appear in the future and quickly replace existing solutions? This is a major risk for such projects.
There is another type of project that is even more special, that is, those that do not exist on Ethereum or those that exist on Ethereum but are not done well enough, which are also worthy of our attention and exploration.
For example, I have been paying attention to various projects around the Bitmap ecosystem. At least so far, in my opinion, they are projects that are doing better on Bitcoin than on Ethereum.
In addition to what I have written, if we observe carefully, we will definitely find more sub-sectors and tracks worth exploring.
In short, if we think we cannot handle the risks, then we should completely give up on this wave of inscription development; if we think we are ready and intend to participate in this complex ecosystem, then we must have our own systematic ideas so as not to get lost, have direction, and gain something.
