Techub News reports, according to DL News, that Jackie Sawicky, the founder of the Texas Anti-Crypto Mining Alliance, has announced the disbandment of the organization, ending three years of opposition to mining activities. The alliance had 800 members and had protested against the operations of Bitcoin mining companies in the area multiple times. It is estimated that Texas Bitcoin mining companies currently consume 2,600 megawatts of electricity, equivalent to the electricity usage of 2.6 million households. Sawicky stated that the pro-crypto government following Trump's election as president will make anti-mining efforts more difficult.
