Odaily Planet Daily News: A Nigerian court on Friday rejected a bail application filed by Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan due to health issues. The executive was on trial for suspected money laundering and currency manipulation, and instructed the prison to send him to the hospital for treatment. Judge Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in the capital Abuja pointed out that a person's illness "does not mean that they have the right to leave the detention center unless continued detention will cause harm to others and cannot be isolated." According to US lawmakers, Binance's financial crime compliance director Tigran Gambaryan, who was unjustly detained, has been detained in the country since February. His lawyers have repeatedly raised his poor health and said he needed surgery. Gambaryan's lawyer Mark Mordi had pleaded with the court to allow his client to be released on bail so that he could seek medical treatment for a herniated disc, which has made it difficult for him to walk.
