Hiring surges at tech giants 🫠
While non-farm payrolls data showed early signs that the tight job market is starting to slow, micro-data has begun to diverge recently as big tech companies resume hiring, with Salesforce recently saying it would hire 3,300 employees in sales and engineering. Amazon also announced that they will hire 250,000 employees this holiday season, an increase of 67% from 2022, and wages have also increased significantly to $20.5 per hour. Even Meta seems to be making a comeback. According to Bloomberg, the company has restored benefits and provided benefits for employees. Previously unemployed employees are offering “return hiring,” once again showing the astonishing resilience of the U.S. tech industry.
