Humanoid robots Optimus will bring Tesla's capitalization to $25 trillion - this is more than half of the current capitalization of all companies from the S&P 500 index. This was stated by the head of the company, Elon Musk, writes CNBC.

He did not specify the time frame for achieving this level.

At the annual shareholder meeting in Austin, Texas, the billionaire noted that Tesla is “not just starting a new chapter, but is going to write a whole new book with Optimus as the main character.”

“One day robots will function like R2-D2 and C-3PO from Star Wars.” They will cook for you or clean, work in a factory or even teach children,” Musk suggested.

In 2025, Tesla will launch limited production of Optimus and begin testing them in its factories. According to the entrepreneur's forecasts, next year the company will have 1000 or several thousand robots.

The billionaire announced these plans after shareholders voted to approve his $56 billion payout package.

Tesla has unveiled a humanoid robot in 2021. In December 2023, the company showed Optimus Gen 1, which can walk forward, calibrate and move body parts in 11 axes, and assume different poses.

Let us remember that in 2022, Musk said that Tesla’s robot business will become more profitable than its automobile business.
