Scammers Ask for Cryptocurrency in Elon Musk's SpaceX Fake Live Stream by Dubbing AI Voice Over Real Video

More than 100,000 people watched SpaceX's fake livestream, which combined real video with Elon Musk's artificial intelligence (AI) voiceover.

According to a report and screenshot from TrustNodes, more than 125,000 people watched SpaceX's livestream on a fake YouTube channel with a QR code asking for cryptocurrency donations on the screen.

The QR code remained on the screen throughout the live broadcast.

The YouTube channel @SpaceXFromElon has nearly 3 million subscribers, despite the noticeable absence of a checkmark. The actual SpaceX YouTube channel, @SpaceX, has 6.7 million subscribers and, perhaps most importantly, a verified tick.

In the fake livestream, Elon Musk's AI-generated voice, after explaining the benefits and future profits of Bitcoin (BTC), directly asks viewers to scan a QR code to make them crypto-rich.

As technology advances, the number of fraudulent videos created using artificial intelligence is increasing. Elon Musk is a common target, and the same channel used the same live stream during the eclipse just two months ago.

Musk is well known in the crypto community as a supporter of Dogecoin (DOGE).

QR code viewership numbers are not currently available.
