Elon Musk's new artificial intelligence (AI) startup, xAI, aims to understand the true nature of the universe. However, achieving its goals may prove impossible due to the limitations of the laws of physics. Musk's motivation for xAI is to develop safe AI, but attempts to understand the universe's "true" nature are inevitably hindered by the lack of a ground-truth knowledge center to verify theories. Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle dictates that certain aspects of reality cannot be simultaneously observed or measured; this, combined with the rapid expansion of the universe, prohibits us from measuring anything beyond a certain point. Even a superintelligence processing all existing data could not determine ground truths about the universe.
