[Blob transactions have reached 100% utilization] With the significant increase in Blob inscription transactions on the Ethereum network, Blob transactions on Ethereum have reached 100% utilization. Currently, Ethereum has a maximum limit of 6 blobs per block.
According to data from Dune’s analytics dashboard, 41% of recent Blob transactions were Blob Inscription transactions. Inscriptions are primarily used to store data on-chain, including image metadata, although data from blob transactions can only be accessed for a limited time of up to 21 days. The surge in activity has also led to an increase in the blob's base fee.
Data from Galaxy Research shows that the median fee for L2 transactions over the past 24 hours was about 4 cents.
