On Monday, three witnesses for Craig Wright testified in the UK High Court in an attempt to prove that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, CoinDesk reported. Key witness Stefan Matthews had to defend a serious statement he made about the trial, which raised questions about whether he thought Wright was insincere. Matthews is the co-founder of the technology company nChain, where Wright served as chief scientist. Since the trial began on February 5, Wright has been cross-examined for many days, followed by witnesses from his camp. Before Matthews testified on Monday, David Bridges, chief information officer of Qudos Bank, and Max Lynam, Wright's cousin, participated via video link. Both admitted that the key events or conversations that convinced them that Wright was Satoshi Nakamoto took place many years ago and were not supported by substantial evidence. Matthews will continue to testify until lunchtime on Tuesday, after which Steve Lee and John MacFarlane of the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) may testify for COPA. The trial will last until at least mid-March, according to a tentative schedule shared by the court.
