According to Wu, Blockstream founder Adam Back said that Bitcoin reserves support for future post-quantum signature mechanisms through Taproot leaf nodes, which can alleviate fears of quantum computing without the need to activate anti-quantum signature opcodes currently.
He believes that the threat of quantum computing will take at least several decades to become a reality, and anti-quantum signature technology will launch a more compact and mature solution in the future. Users can safely transfer funds through Schnorr signatures or future solutions without increasing transaction costs.
He emphasized that this mechanism can help the Bitcoin community prepare in advance while maintaining on-chain efficiency.
