Opinion: It may take months for the US government to start selling BTC seized from Silk Road
PANews reported on January 9 that on-chain analyst Trader T stated on X platform that for the "US government has been authorized to liquidate 69,370 BTC seized from the Dark Web Silk Road", it may take several months from being authorized to actually selling them.
In addition, according to Spot On Chain, the US government currently holds about 197,000 BTC, as the previous sale was done through over-the-counter transactions, so it did not directly affect the price, but the resulting market panic may have led to a temporary price drop.
HODL15Capital also posted that they have confirmed on-chain that the BTC held by the US has not been moved or sold.
