Revealing Bitcoin's Four-Year Cycle: When is the Real Bottom?
Is now really the right time to buy the dip in Bitcoin? The price of Bitcoin has once again significantly dropped below the $100,000 mark, and the dip-buying army is already stirring. But let me throw some cold water on this: Don't rush to buy the dip.
Why do I say this? Have I lost confidence in Bitcoin? Not at all. I have my considerations.
First, I don’t want you to be the unfortunate one forced to exit the market. Second, I am after a true discounted price, not a seemingly cheap price.
Let’s do some math. Bitcoin is currently about 13% lower than its historical peak, which is considered a significant discount in traditional finance, but in the Bitcoin community, it’s just daily volatility. According to Bitcoin's four-year cycle, during and after the halving period, prices soar, followed by a year that often performs poorly, where prices may bottom out near the previous cycle's high point.
For example, in 2022, the price of Bitcoin fell to around $15,500, which is lower than the previous cycle's high point of $20,000. If something similar happens in 2026, Bitcoin might drop to around $53,000. That would be a real discount, worth buying in.
I’m not saying dollar-cost averaging is bad; this strategy is very friendly for novice retail investors. But if someone asks me if it’s worth buying Bitcoin now, I would say, “Wait a bit longer.”
For my friends who consult me about Bitcoin investment, especially beginners, I always want to maximize their benefits. Although I might suggest they buy and sell at appropriate times over the next year, I actually hope they can hold long-term.
You say the U.S. wants to establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve, and other countries are following suit? Companies are also buying Bitcoin as an asset? Yes, all these things are happening. But don’t forget, Bitcoin price cycles have always been similar. Although it seems there is still room for a price increase now, I sense that once the situation changes, the price will drop again.
When that time comes, it will be my time to strike.
