According to reports, the South Korean blockchain company Wemade is currently involved in a lawsuit with 27 former employees over performance bonus disputes. These employees are demanding payment of Wemix token bonuses valued at approximately 16.1 billion Korean won (about 12.7 million USD). It is reported that these employees were developers at the subsidiary Wemade Tree and participated in the issuance and listing of the Wemix token in 2020. The plaintiffs claim that the company promised to issue token rewards based on a 3-year service standard, with relevant emails as evidence. However, Wemade denies having signed any verbal agreements and states that they only discussed the reward program but failed to implement it due to uncertainties in regulations and accounting standards, as well as potential criminal liability risks for management.
