I classify the existing altcoins into four categories:
1. Yesterday's News
These appeared earlier, the topics are relatively outdated, and their scalability is limited, mostly being mining coins. It is expected that by 2025, they will not exceed the 2021 peak. Coins in this category include: ETC, FIL, BSV, ICP, etc.
2. Conventional
These appeared before 2021, have a certain market share, and the projects are still actively operating and developing. The prices of these coins are expected to be in sync with the overall market, with a total market value increase of 1-2 times. Coins in this category include: LINK, CRV, NEAR, XRP, XLM, DOT, etc.
3. Three Directions
These appeared in 2021 and afterwards, representing (recognized) advanced productivity and future development directions. The upper limit of these coins is higher than that of the conventional coins, and they are likely to grow and strengthen in a bull market. Coins in this category include: SOL, OP, SUI, WLD, IMX, MAGIC, EIGEN, etc.
4. Dark Horse Prince
These appeared between 2022-2025, do not belong to the mainstream narrative, but are gradually moving towards mainstream visibility. They have significant room for future development, but there is also a chance of failure, depending on whether they can become part of the mainstream narrative and continue to be a hot topic.
Coins in this category include: ORDI, NEIRO, PNUT, BONK, PEPE, KAS, etc.
As a stable leveraged bull, my main positions are in categories 2 and 3, trying to balance category 4, and avoiding category 1 as much as possible.
