Quantum computers pose a threat to Bitcoin⁉️
It may even lead to Bitcoin dropping to zero📉⁉️
All I can say is that the person who says this has no basic knowledge. Do you know how many steps it takes from chips to computing algorithms? First of all, the quantum computer Willow used for supercomputing by Google requires an environment of absolute zero to operate; this is the basic requirement for chips. Just look at how many laboratories in the world can achieve absolute zero🧊.
Secondly, the operation of a chip is merely a physical representation of 0 or 1. Quantum chips can express both 1 and 0 simultaneously, but these physical representations of 0 and 1 require specific instruction sets to control, in order to enable computers to assist humans in performing tasks. Furthermore, these special instruction sets require specific professional compilation to crack Bitcoin's hash values.
Current quantum computers can only realize a concept; they can only achieve normal operation at the physical level to express 0 and 1. Whether their physical properties can support a professional instruction set and a specialized compilation language to crack hash values is still completely unknown⚠️⚠️.
Moreover, there are currently no companies on this planet that can accomplish all of this simultaneously. Google can only achieve the physical level for now, and the latter two points have not been realized by any institution at this time.
I estimate that when it can really be achieved, there won't be many companies capable of it. The applications of supercomputing are very singular and specialized, generally used for astronomical simulations, analyzing the birth of the universe, and examining new elements produced by particle collisions, etc. Which of these offers greater rewards or achievements than cracking Bitcoin? Who has the time to waste on deciphering Bitcoin's hash values🤷♂️🤷♂️? A financial product is indeed light as a feather compared to national interests.
