(Ragnarok Landverse) is a free MMORPG based on the classic Ragnarok IP and gameplay, launched on the Ronin network by the Web3 gaming company Zentry (formerly GuildFi) in collaboration with the publisher of Ragnarok, Gravity. In last year's soft launch, Ragnarok Landverse attracted 400,000 players and generated $15 million in revenue from NFT and in-game item sales.
In addition to retaining the nostalgic gameplay of Ragnarok, this game also features additional Web3 functionalities, introducing in-game item NFTs, guild-to-guild mechanics, and a cryptocurrency economic system.
According to the Ronin announcement, players can experience various content in the game, including special missions, mining, monster challenges, altar systems, and guild-customized characters.
Trung Nguyen, co-founder and CEO of Ronin developer Sky Mavis, stated:
"As a player of (Ragnarok) myself, I understand the deep nostalgia and connection this game evokes in the global community. Zentry's Ragnarok Landverse has a large player base and $15 million in NFT sales, proving that the purpose of Web3 games is to create experiences that players truly love, allowing them to earn and collect. With Ronin's strong track record in powering popular Web3 games and our mission to bring economic freedom to everyone (starting with gamers), we are excited to help expand (Ragnarok: Ragnarok) to a broader and more engaged audience."
