👉 Changes in the Middle East: US President-elect Donald Trump makes a new post on his social network Truth Social saying that if the 97 Israeli hostages (34 confirmed dead) still held in Gaza are not released by the terrorist group Hamas by the day of his inauguration, “HELL WILL BREAK in the Middle East and for those responsible for perpetrating these atrocities against humanity”.
All recent agreements, which provided for the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners (at a rate of 1 hostage for every 5 to 7 prisoners, including those convicted of terrorism) and a temporary pause in the conflict, were rejected by Hamas, as the proposal did not include a permanent ceasefire (end of the war) that would allow the terrorist group to remain active and in control of the region.
Hamas' intransigence led its surviving leaders to lose their long-standing refuge in Qatar. Currently, the living leaders of Hamas are in Türkiye and Iran.
