Didi Chuxing, the top online ride-hailing service company, has launched a new service that allows citizens in 250 regions in China to rent motorcycles using digital yuan (e-CNY). The service is provided through Didi Qingjue, a subsidiary of Didi Chuxing, which provides a mobile app-based motorcycle sharing service. Didi Chuxing has previously enabled digital yuan payments for bicycle and ride-hailing services through its subsidiaries. Users in pilot areas can now choose e-CNY as a payment option on Didi Chuxing’s app, making it easier to rent motorcycles. Didi Chuxing is an early private sector participant in the e-CNY project, promoting the application of digital renminbi in the travel field. Adoption of e-CNY has expanded to various public transportation systems, including buses, subways, rail networks, and highway toll stations, as well as B2B solutions such as e-CNY smart contract-based supply chain financing provided by Bank of China .
