If I encounter a game that is not fun, I will just give up. Saying one more word or staying for one more minute is a waste of my time. And I have been working in the game industry. I will not offend people if I can. If I join a Web3 project in the future, I may have to meet people from the game project every day.

But today I was really pissed off by Blocklords.

There are two reasons:

1. I bought a lot of NFTs and spent a lot of money. When I imported NFTs into the game client, I only had to pay a little gas fee, which was no problem. But when I wanted to export NFTs from the game, I had to pay 1,200 gold coins to export them. This is very rogue. I put my own assets into the game, why should I pay 1,200 gold coins to take them out? Are the bandits collecting tolls? It’s okay to collect a little toll, but the problem is that I can’t pay this toll with virtual currency, and I have to stay in the game to earn gold coins myself. The project party can indeed improve player retention with this design, but it will only make players curse. You know, 1,200 gold coins, a novice has to play for 2 days without doing anything. The asset ownership of the chain game belongs to the players. I bought NFTs and did not use smart contracts to pledge them into the game. When I imported NFTs into the game, I was not prompted to pay 1,200 gold coins to export them. I should be able to dispose of these assets freely, so my ownership was definitely violated by the game project party.

2. I was one of the first players of Age of Empires II: The Rise of Rome when it was launched in 2000. I played this game for 2 of my 3 years as a graduate student, and I got cervical spondylosis from playing it. Now it’s 2024, please improve yourself and release blockchain games with some sincerity, and don’t use the sign of Web3 version of Age of Empires. The product you make is worse than the one in 2000. If I were not an old player of Age of Empires, I probably wouldn’t be so angry.

I bought the Blocklords NFT hero after a meeting with IMX people on June 7th. I bought it only after they specifically mentioned it. I thought that since IMX had noticed it and was promoting it so actively in the Chinese-speaking region, it must be doing well.

I am very disappointed with IMX now: What kind of products and food do the platform and public chain want to push to players? Have they screened them? Have they played them themselves to make an evaluation? If the first-tier blockchain game platforms screen games in this way, I will be really disappointed.

The blockchain game industry is indeed very difficult. It is difficult to be a blockchain game project owner or a blockchain game platform. There is a lack of players, good projects, funds, and popularity.

In fact, the bottom line of blockchain game players has been very low, and they do not have high requirements for most projects. I hope that in the next few years, this situation will improve and there will be no more "masterpieces" that make people angry.
