Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made the decision to step down from his role as the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada and Prime Minister, effective upon the selection of his successor within the party.

Trudeau has faced substantial backlash for his failure to address housing shortages, inflation, and other economic challenges plaguing Canada. Additionally, he cited internal struggles as a reason why he believes he is not the ideal candidate for the upcoming Canadian federal election in 2025.

Trudeau, who has been critical of Bitcoin and exhibited poor economic policies, criticized his political opponent Pierre Poilievre, the Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, in 2023 for advising Canadians to hedge against inflation by investing in bitcoin. Trudeau misrepresented Poilievre’s comment to dissuade people from considering bitcoin as a viable option, implying significant risks. However, the value of bitcoin has surged by 375% since Trudeau’s negative remarks about its investment potential.

If Trudeau had been more transparent and forward-thinking, he would have encouraged Canadians to embrace bitcoin as a means of safeguarding their wealth, just as Poilievre did.

With the Canadian federal election approaching, there is an opportunity to elect a leader who is pro-Bitcoin and understands the economic landscape, like Pierre Poilievre. Poilievre advocates for Bitcoin and has a solid understanding of monetary principles. Here is a link to a compelling speech by Poilievre on money, showcasing his expertise. Additionally, Poilievre affirms that the money supply growth and excessive government spending lead to inflation.

Similar to former President Trump’s use of the Bitcoin Lightning Network to make purchases, Poilievre has also demonstrated his support for Bitcoin by making transactions at local Bitcoin-accepting establishments. In 2023, he visited a Canadian restaurant that accepts bitcoin and paid for his meal in BTC, highlighting his advocacy for using Bitcoin as a medium of exchange.

Canadian voters have the chance to elect a Prime Minister who advocates for sound economic policies and promotes the use of Bitcoin. By doing so, Canada can align with countries like the United States and El Salvador in embracing Bitcoin and its advantages. The upcoming Canadian election is scheduled to occur on or before October 20, 2025.

I personally believe that Poilievre is the ideal candidate for Canada in this election, not just because of his pro-Bitcoin stance, but also due to his economic policies, commitment to freedom, and logical decision-making. I encourage Canadians to vote for Poilievre in this election to pave the way for economic growth and the widespread adoption of Bitcoin in the country.

Canadian citizens, seize this opportunity to vote for Poilievre and shape a prosperous future for Canada with Bitcoin.
