The excuse is always the same :

protect the investors from an unregulated market.

But we all know by now that there are excuses.

The regulated market is also manipulated by large investment funds and banks.

Where is the difference?

It lies in the fact that the exchange are not yet in their hands.

That's why they want to regulated exchange as much as possible and more generally the whole crypto world, to have full control over them.

This slow down the development of technology and the new economy, but they know that this new economy is good for people and less good for their desire for control.
