Ethereum restaking protocol Eigenlayer has launched its token-claim process for Season 1, Phase 1 rewards, allowing users to claim the new EIGEN token. However, the token is currently non-transferable and will only become so after new features are implemented, with a tentative date of September 30. The claim process will close on September 7. The token is not available to users in over 30 jurisdictions, including the US, Russia, China, and Canada. VPN server addresses are also banned from claiming it. The current airdrop is mostly limited to users who restaked Ether or its liquid staking derivatives on Eigenlayer before March 15.
