According to Odaily, Everclear co-founder Arjun Bhuptani discussed the topic of chain abstraction at the Abstract Summit today. Bhuptani highlighted that many applications, including projects at the level of Arbitrum, are attempting to use their own technology stacks. This approach allows for customization to meet specific needs but also increases the costs for other applications to use the same technology stack.

Bhuptani pointed out that the current cost of acquiring users by bridging assets from other chains is significantly higher than the cost of directly deploying on those chains. As a result, applications naturally tend to deploy directly on other chains rather than relying on bridging. Chain abstraction, he explained, can address both issues to some extent: it allows applications to retain their original technology stacks while also reducing costs.
