Shiba Inu News: Giant Shiba Inu (SHIB) whale "0x1406" wakes up after 157 days of hibernation, distributes 4 trillion SHIB tokens worth 8 new wallets. The whale is known as the largest holder of SHIB tokens, and the move may be in response to the news released by Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama on the Shibarium mainnet and the release of Worldpaper in August.
Shiba Inu Whale transfers 4 trillion SHIB tokens
Lookonchain revealed on July 13 that a whale with 101.47 trillion SHIB tokens worth $756 million transferred 4 trillion SHIB tokens worth $29.8 million to 8 new addresses. The whale owns 10.15% of the total SHIB supply and is also the largest holder of Shiba Inu.
The whale has not made a large transfer for 610 days, accumulating SHIB tokens and distributing them to other addresses. It is known for buying SHIB on dips.
In 2020, the whale bought 103.33 trillion SHIB tokens for 38 ETH 14k USD. Then in 2021, it sold 603 billion SHIB for 2411 ETH worth $9.6 million, and sold 1.25 trillion SHIB worth $8.77 million to the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase in 2021. Currently, the whale still holds 101.47 trillion SHIB, worth $756 million, distributed in 23 wallets.
Spot on Chain noted that the whale’s last transaction was 157 days ago, when it purchased 7,049 SHIB tokens. The main wallet “0x1406” still holds 6.20 trillion SHIB, worth $46 million.
The news comes after Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama confirmed to Worldpaper that the long-awaited L2 Shibarium could be released during the Blockchain Futurists Conference taking place in Toronto, Canada from August 13-17, 2023.
In addition, the Shiba Inu ecosystem will have Doggy DAO and the SHIB DOGGY DAO Foundation, which will execute the DAO's decisions and hold the DAO's assets.
SHIB and BONE prices increase
SHIB price is down more than 1% from its 24-hour high and is currently trading at $0.00000746. The 24-hour minimum and maximum prices were $0.00000737 and $0.00000759 respectively.
Meanwhile, Shibarium’s gas token, Bone ShibaSwap (BONE), has gained 82% in a month. BONE is currently trading at $1.29, up 1% in the past 24 hours. The 24-hour low and high were $1.27 and $1.31, respectively.
