Odaily Planet Daily News According to official news, British asset management giant Schroders and the Monetary Authority of Singapore are exploring the functions of tokenized investment vehicles (TIVs), which support the packaging and issuance of traditional investment securities. Schroders is participating in the Project Guardian program of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, which aims to test the feasibility of tokenized assets while managing financial stability and integrity risks and developing a responsible and innovative digital asset ecosystem. Schroders will work with the global fund network Calastone to explore the capabilities of variable capital companies (VCC) tokenization tools. This is a common fund structure in Singapore, which will have the potential to enable customers to improve the personalization of their investment solutions, while the underlying blockchain technology can simplify daily operational processing by improving automation and synchronizing data. The cooperation between Schroders and Calastone will also explore asset ownership related to blockchain technology, which can provide more cost-effective investment allocations for retail and institutional investors. It is reported that in August 2022, Schroders announced the purchase of a minority stake in Forteus, an asset management company focusing on blockchain technology and digital assets, to explore the issuance of digital tokens to investors; in early February 2023, Schroders participated in the first pound digital bond issued by the European Investment Bank. Earlier news, Japan's financial regulator, the Financial Services Agency (FSA), announced a partnership with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to jointly supervise and pilot test Singapore's digital asset program "Project Guardian". Project Guardian was launched by MAS in May 2022 to test the "feasibility of asset tokenization and DeFi applications" under appropriate regulations. The program has four focus areas: open and interoperable networks, trust anchors, asset tokenization, and institutional-grade DeFi protocols.
