Odaily Planet Daily News Coinbase was fined 1 million rubles (nearly $11,000) by a Moscow court for failing to localize the data of Russian customers. The reason is that it failed to comply with regulations to protect Russian users’ personal information. It is reported that the violation was attributed to Coinbase Ireland Ltd, the European arm of Coinbase, was also fined 6 million rubles ($65,000) by Airbnb, 3 million rubles by UPS and 6 million rubles by Spotify for the same violations. In this regard, Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal stated that Coinbase still insists that it will not localize customer data in Russia. (Cryptotimes)
