PANews reported on December 31 that former FTX CEO SBF tweeted for the first time since his arrest on December 12. He said that the funds transferred from the Alameda Research wallet after he was released on bail had nothing to do with him. He wrote: "I did not do any of this, I did not and could not use these funds. I can no longer access these funds." According to previous news, $1.7 million worth of Ethereum tokens in Alameda Research-related wallets were sold on the open market on Wednesday evening. A variety of tokens including USDC, DAI, CRV, ETH, and CVX were merged from several wallets to two wallets and then sold for USDT. These assets were then exchanged for Bitcoin (BTC) through exchange services such as FixedFloat and ChangeNow. SBF was arrested in the Bahamas on December 12 on charges including money laundering, wire fraud and securities fraud, and was subsequently extradited to the United States on December 21 and released on December 24 on a bail of $250 million. The Wall Street Journal quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that SBF may plead not guilty to eight fraud charges at a hearing next week.
