Political consultant Steven Kramer has been indicted for using AI-generated robocalls to impersonate President Biden during New Hampshire's Democratic primary election. The robocalls, which asked residents not to vote, resulted in 13 felony voter suppression charges and 13 misdemeanor impersonation charges against Kramer. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has proposed a $6 million fine for Kramer, and a $2 million fine for Lingo Telecom, the company that transmitted the calls. Kramer defended his actions as a means to highlight the dangers of AI in politics.
