We are thrilled to announce a major technical upgrade in the Mainnet migration mechanism that resulted in more than double the speed at which Pioneers migrate to the Mainnet!

In this technical upgrade, we optimized the algorithm managing the migration process, the queues of migrating Pioneers, the additional checking and examination subprocesses, and its interactions with the Mainnet blockchain. Such optimization, based on much effort and multiple rounds of iterations and testing, makes the migration process more efficient and leads to higher throughput of migration overall.

This upgrade has been so effective that, in fact, we’re now able to migrate Pioneers faster than the new migration requests received from Pioneers every day! In light of this exciting development…

Act Now: Complete your Mainnet Checklist and migrate today!

For Pioneers who have completed their Mainnet Checklists, check your migration status immediately! Due to this speed improvement, you may have already been migrated to Mainnet, or you’ll move fast in the queue especially if you’re actively mining!

For Pioneers who have not, this is the perfect time to complete the Mainnet Checklist now! Go to the Mainnet Checklist in the Mainnet dashboard in your Pi mining app today to complete any remaining steps if needed.

Due to the improved speed upgrade, we actually need more Pioneers to finish their Mainnet Checklist and line up for migration so we can maximize our use of the current migration capacity.

In other words, for people who can migrate, the ball is now in your court—act!

Progressing the Open Network Mainnet migration goal

Overall, the Core Team’s work involved in developing this migration upgrade is in line assisting the community to advance the shared network goal of 10 million Mainnet migrations towards the Open Network! The Mainnet migration number has risen already from 4.6 million last March to 5.41 million now—and it’s only going to go up faster from here, as more Pioneers act on migration and make use of the improved migration capacity.
