Canadian investors are increasingly turning to U.S.-listed crypto ETFs (exchange-traded funds) despite the availability of homegrown products. According to data from CoinShares, Canadian investors have been favoring larger and more liquid U.S. bitcoin spot ETFs, leading to significant outflows from Canadian BTC spot ETFs. Last year alone, Canadian crypto ETFs experienced outflows of $770 million, while U.S. bitcoin spot ETFs attracted a staggering $44.22 billion. This disparity highlights the dominance of U.S. bitcoin spot ETFs in the global market, making it challenging for other markets to compete with their massive AUM (assets under management).
