The Dogecoin account jumped on the opportunity, calling the vehicle a “Shiba Inu taxi” and tagging Musk directly. The playful tweet sparked a wave of excitement among Dogecoin enthusiasts, with many speculating about the possibility of Dogecoin being accepted as payment for Tesla's new service. Responses ranged from, “Accept Doge as payment or give up the title of Doge Father,” to, “Seems like a $DOGE to me,” echoing the community's enthusiasm for Musk’s involvement with Dogecoin.
The screenshot, branded with a “Tesla-live” watermark, originated from a presentation of Tesla’s Robotaxi, where Musk revealed the futuristic vehicle. On October 9, Musk shared a live broadcast of Tesla’s “We, Robot” event on his X account, where he presented the “Cybercab”—Tesla’s driverless taxi. The event, held in a large hangar-like space, featured 50 fully autonomous Cybercabs, each lacking a steering wheel or pedals. Musk explained that he had arrived at the event in one of these Cybercabs, adding that Tesla had already converted many Cybertrucks into Robotaxis.
With a nod to sci-fi films and video games set in dystopian futures, Musk emphasized that humanity can aim for something much more positive and exciting. “We want a fun, exciting future,” he declared, underscoring his vision of a world where autonomous vehicles bring innovation and convenience, not fear.
As Musk continues to blend his love for tech with playful Dogecoin references, the Dogecoin community watches eagerly, wondering if this new era of Tesla innovation might also come with a dash of Doge.
