The donation to Railgun, a DeFi privacy protocol governed by the decentralized community of the same name, began with an automated execution proposal submitted to Railgun governance by an anonymous user. Self-executing proposals do not require DAO members with higher authority to operate. Once the DAO votes, the smart contract code in the proposal will trigger execution immediately.
