According to Alistair Milne, CEO of Altana Digital Currency Fund, an anonymous donor sent 80717 bitcoins worth more than $494,000 to an address listed on the Free Julian Assange website.
This was in addition to £345,992 ($437,925) sent to a crowdfunding initiative set up by Julian's wife Stella. She and Julian needed $520,000 to pay the Australian government for a charter flight from Saipan to Australia.
On Tuesday, Assange pleaded guilty to one count of espionage in a Saipan court as part of a plea deal. He has since returned to Australia a free man.
