People have to: 🚗 Travel in person to send or receive a remittance 💰 Pay a hefty transaction fee 🚨 Send or receive their remittances in physical cash, which can present safety concerns @Felixpago and @Bitso offer a solution with Stellar ↓ Félix, a Whatsapp-based payments platform that enables U.S.-based Latino immigrants to send money, partners with Bitso, the largest cryptocurrency platform in Latin America, to speed up remittance from days to seconds. Together, they provide cheaper and faster remittances for everyone with access to Stellar on/off ramps and an intuitive user experience. “We're using USDC on the Stellar network, and it just works beautifully for us. Currently the whole remittance process can take up to an hour, sometimes days, starting from the sender going to a store to the beneficiary seeing the deposit. With us, it takes seconds.” @manueljgodoym, co-founder and CEO of Félix.

350 million people in Africa don't have access to bank accounts, and only 20% of families have formal bank accounts. @fonbnk1 provides a real-world solution to this problem by turning 8 billion active prepaid SIM cards globally into virtual debit cards with Stellar. Once users load prepaid airtime credits onto Fonbnk wallets, those credits are on-ramped onto the Stellar network and digitized into tokens named MIN, which can then be turned into USD Coin (USDC).
