Abu Dhabi launches Yas Metaverse Island for a new tourist experience
The Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi has launched the virtual version of Yas Island, a popular entertainment island in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the Abu Dhabi Media Office reported on August 22.
According to the report, users, represented by digital avatars, can explore well-known places, attractions and cultural sites in the emirate, such as the Yas Creative Hub, SeaWorld, Yas Marina Circuit and Etihad Etihad Park and Louvre Abu Dhabi.
This initiative, which was initially announced in October last year, comes as part of a collaboration between the Department of Culture and Tourism, real estate developer Aldar, asset management company Miral, the Abu Dhabi Media Free Zone (twofour54) and "Thriller" (Ethara) for entertainment.
