Rhode Island regulators have granted X (Twitter (NYSE:TWTR)) a currency transmitter license, marking a step forward in the company's foray into the financial services sector. The license is legally required for companies that carry out financial activities on behalf of users related to the sending and receiving of money, a definition that includes both fiduciary and cryptographic assets. The approval will allow X to guard, transfer and convert digital currencies. The decentralized exchange platform (DEX) dYdX will unlock USD 14.02 million in DYDX (DYDX) tokens dedicated to the community treasury and rewards for traders and liquidity providers. On August 29, dYdX will release 6.52 million internal tokens, representing 3.76% of DYDX's outstanding offer. From the lot, 2.49 million DYDX tokens - valued at USD 5.36 million - will be allocated to the community treasury.
