From July 31, residents of Vienna aged 18 and over can verify their World ID at various locations throughout the city. This addition brings Worldcoin’s network to over 6.3 million users worldwide. Austrian residents can become Worldcoin ambassadors to help spread awareness and understanding of the project. Worldcoin Expands in Europe Amid Regulatory Scrutiny and Security Enhancements Worldcoin’s launch in Austria follows a similar introduction in Germany. The Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA) previously investigated Worldcoin’s biometric data collection. Worldcoin has also faced regulatory challenges in Spain and Hong Kong, where operations were paused due to privacy concerns. Despite these issues, Worldcoin continues to work towards compliance with local regulations.
