According to Odaily, Bitcoin mining company Genesis Digital Assets Limited (GDA) has initiated a new project in Norsjö, Sweden, utilizing excess heat from one of its Bitcoin mining data centers to provide heating for local garages. GDA has partnered with Muttern Fastigheter to launch this heating initiative, which aims to redirect waste heat from GDA's data center operations to supply 90,000 cubic meters of hot air per hour at 52°C to a 1,200 square meter garage. This project addresses the urgent heating needs of Västerbotten County, where temperatures can drop as low as -25°C.

GDA operates 20 data centers with a capacity of 600 megawatts (MW) and over 180,000 mining machines.
