ANC Pharmacy, one of the biggest pharmacy chains in Ukraine, has partnered with Binance to provide crypto payment options. The company announced in its blog, confirming it will debut Binance Pay across its terminals. 

ANC Pharmacy Integrates Binance Pay

The new partnership will allow customers to purchase items from their pharmacy and make payments in cryptocurrencies like bitcoin. ANC confirmed this news on January 3.

ANC Pharmacy has over 1,000 operational outlets in Ukraine and an active online purchase service. The firm intends to deploy the Binance Pay service first in Kyiv. 

The new payment will also be available in its subsidiary stores Kopiyka and Shara, the announcement revealed. ANC Pharmacy said that Kopiyka and Shara were the first pharmacies to accept cryptocurrencies.

The payment involves customers downloading the Binance app. Then they can go to the ANC pharmacy website and choose the product they wish to purchase before going to the Binance Pay platform to make payments. Customers can then move to any outlet to pick up their orders. 

Binance’s application boosts over 50M downloads on different platforms. The Binance Pay service is available in the application, so there is likely an increase in the application’s download.

Binance Continues Pushing into Ukraine

Binance continues its push into Ukraine with its latest partnership. ANC Pharmacy is not its first partnership in Ukraine; it partnered with Ukrainian supermarket chain Varus in September last year.

Binance also issued a Refuge Crypto Card to Ukrainian citizens who had to leave their country due to the war with Russia in April 2022. It also donated $10 million to help the country’s humanitarian crisis while launching the Ukraine Emergency Relief Funds.

Binance Ukraine’s general manager, Kirill Khomyakov, intended to launch Binance Card in February 2022, before the Russian invasion. Khomyakov said the project was top of his plans before the country was invaded.

There is no legal ban on crypto-derived transactions in Ukraine. The government has only frowned on direct payments via cryptocurrencies. With other countries like Russia relaxing some of its cryptocurrency bans, Ukraine might follow suit in the future.
