According to Odaily Planet Daily, Arkham monitoring indicates that a wallet controlled by the US government is suspected to have been hacked, containing funds seized from the 2016 Bitfinex hack, which has currently led to a loss of $20 million at that address.
The attackers sent the funds to a wallet starting with '0x348', which included USDC, USDT, aUSDC, and ETH. The hackers have begun converting stablecoins to ETH and laundering the funds through addresses possibly related to money laundering services.
According to previous reports, the US government's address (Bitfinex hacker seized funds) withdrew $6.57 million in stablecoins from Aave early this morning. The funds were transferred to an address starting with '0x348', after which approximately 5.45 million USDC was exchanged for 2,135.27 ETH.
