The US election seems full of variables, but in reality, there is no suspense!
US Vice President and Democratic Party 2024 presidential candidate Harris delivered her final speech before the election at the place where Trump claimed "fight like hell" to his supporters on January 6, 2021. She warned American voters that Trump would unleash a flood of retribution against his competitors if elected, including ordinary voters, and she promised to tirelessly work for every American.
With less than a week to go before the 2024 US election, the election appears to be full of suspense, but in fact, there is none. In fact, the possibility of Harris being elected has become very high. Some may question that Trump is catching up to Harris in many swing states, even gaining an edge over her. I would say that if you choose to believe the polls, we have already witnessed the first female president in US history. In 2016, almost all polls predicted Hillary would win the election, but Trump staged a comeback.
Others may question that Harris lacks leadership charisma and is not the strongest candidate in the Democratic Party. The US is a capitalist society; the person chosen by capital may not necessarily be the strongest, as long as they are obedient. The US election is merely about choosing the less rotten apple among two bad options. In 2016, capital was merely toyed with by the polls, thinking that the Hillary they promoted would definitely win the election, leading to a major oversight. Now capital is very clear-headed; they will not allow a "black swan" to appear again.
Some also question that Trump has already gained an advantage in 4 out of 7 swing states. In reality, among the seven swing states, three are blue wall states, three are red wall states, and one only plays a role when tied. The three blue wall states are Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Currently, Harris has a slight advantage in these three states, and Trump has not turned these states red in the polling data. Instead, Georgia, a red wall state, may turn blue under Harris. If we acknowledge that the US is a capitalist country, then capital can play its key role, ensuring that the three blue wall states do not fall and turning another red wall state blue, allowing pro-capital Harris to be elected.
