Here are some essential security tips to help you keep your Binance account and assets safe.

Password and 2FA

  • Use a strong password that includes a mix of letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid using the same password across multiple sites. Keep your account’s password and access to yourself only.
  • Always enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for an added layer of security. You can enable a Passkey or Authenticator App, as an alternative to SMS verification to better protect your account.
  • Never share the 2FA codes to anyone, especially impersonators that might call you or request you to provide a screenshot, share your screen or access your device.

Security Settings

  • Secure your personal email account. Use the same approach above for your linked email, as your email is a critical point of access for your Binance account. Use a unique email only for your Binance account, to further enhance your account security and isolate phishing attempts sent to other personal emails.
  • Enable your anti-phishing code to allow emails sent from Binance to include the unique code that you choose.
  • Enable withdrawal address whitelist to restrict withdrawals to be made to verified addresses in the whitelist only.

Safeguard Access

  • Monitor account activity for any unauthorized actions. Binance provides a log of all login attempts and actions taken. Use Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware Software that you trust. Regularly scan your devices and only install apps from official sources. Avoid using browser extensions when accessing your Binance account on the Web to further protect your account.
  • Avoid accessing your Binance account over public Wi-Fi networks. Access your Binance accounts only via networks that you trust.
  • Keep your API keys safe as if they are your password. Never share your API key to third parties. Remove any unused or unnecessary API access. Do not add any API keys if you are not sure what they mean to you.

Tips to keep in mind

  • Binance will never call you or send you a message on Whatsapp or other social media. When in doubt, always check with one of our customer support agents via our official customer support channel.
  • Be cautious of unsolicited messages or emails asking for personal information or payments to be sent to crypto addresses or other online or off-line payment channels. Check the URL and the domain before clicking on anything. Always access Binance from its official websites or App.
  • Use Binance Verify to check if communication received is official or not. However, please be aware that even if the sources appear to be official, they could still be phishing attempts via spoofed emails or spoofed SMS.
