According to an official statement from the National Police Department’s Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Kenyan police have decided to abandon their investigation into Worldcoin. That’s right, Worldcoin has escaped another catastrophe!
The statement, dated June 14, 2024, was in response to a request for an update on the status of the investigation submitted by Worldcoin’s lawyers in May 2024. According to the DCI, the Kenyan Public Prosecution Service agreed and ordered the case to be closed, and the police were relieved and no longer had to worry about the case.
The DCI statement reads: “In March 2022, we promptly and objectively investigated a series of allegations regarding Worldcoin’s activities in Kenya, including allegations of illegal collection and transfer of sensitive personal data. The result? The case is closed! Everyone can go to bed, and the police don’t need to continue the investigation.”
It seems that Worldcoin has successfully escaped the “care” of the law this time and continues its global journey.
