Polygon Labs is developing the AggLayer protocol that unites disparate blockchains into a single network.

It allows developers to combine layer-1 and layer-2 blockchains without the need to create complex bridges, making it easier for end users to use different networks. With AggLayer, users can interact with decentralized applications without being aware that they are running on other chains. In an example use case provided by AggLayer, an Ethereum user on chain X1 can use Dai without prior exposure to Polygon’s zkEVM.

The goal of AggLayer is to create a unified, highly scalable network similar to the internet, where blockchains are interoperable and offer an improved user experience. The new protocol will be launched in February, with a second version supporting cross-chain transactions coming later this year.

The introduction of AggLayer promises to improve both monolithic and modular blockchain architectures. #polygon #blockchain #Technology
