Witkoff, a real estate investor, and Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, are two of the decision-makers behind the Trump family’s crypto venture, World Liberty Financial, according to people familiar with the matter. Both companies are new players in the crypto industry.
CNBC reached out to Eric Trump and Witkoff about their leadership roles at World Liberty Financial but did not immediately receive a response.
A person familiar with the project revealed that Witkoff has little interest in understanding how the platform works. The source also said that anyone who wants to know important details of the platform (including the white paper) is required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
