TURKISH POLITICIANS' COMMENTS ON CRYPTOCURRENCY PART 1
Here are a few prominent politicians in Turkey who have spoken about cryptocurrencies:
1. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan: In his statement about cryptocurrencies in 2021, he stated that Turkey is "at war against cryptocurrencies" and that Turkey is working on its own digital currency. Erdoğan said that the "digital Turkish lira" project should be given priority in this regard.
2. Mehmet Şimşek (Minister of Treasury and Finance): Şimşek stated that regulations should be made in financial markets and that cryptocurrencies should be regulated. Şimşek also warned that caution should be exercised against the risks of cryptocurrencies.
3. Mustafa Varank (Minister of Industry and Technology): Varank said that blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies have significant potential in Turkey and that these technologies should be supported. As Minister of Technology, he touched upon the areas of use of blockchain and emphasized that Turkey should not fall behind in this regard.
